Every entry on this site answers the same four questions, in the same order, about the same subject. What water is in and beside the house. Where it comes from. What it is there for. What it changes indoors. Then one line about something worth settling before a trip. The order does not change from house to house, so two entries can be read side by side and compared without either of them being ranked. Nothing outside those questions belongs here.
A canal that reaches the front door, a sea below a cliff, a lake at the lawn, a river that gives up its ice, a spring on a ridge, rain held in a cistern, a courtyard basin, snow packed into a wall, a shower floor shared by everyone sleeping above it. If the building would be arranged differently without it, it counts.
Hotel and operator material, maps, and published writing about the places and their waterways. Where a claim could not be checked against a source, it was left out rather than softened into something vague. Details change, and older sources go out of date without saying so.
No prices, no stars, no reviews and no scores. No booking links and no partner links. No promises about swimming, no water temperatures and no seasons for it. No claims about what water does for anyone's health. No measurements of any kind.
